Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time opportunity is available for a qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting in Boston, MA. This contract role focuses on delivering assessments and attending the Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting for a single elementary student in an inclusion environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough evaluation of one visually impaired student onsite.
  • Participate in and contribute to the student's IEP meeting.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support inclusive educational settings.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and school policies throughout the assessment process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold active teaching certifications or licensure in Massachusetts for serving visually impaired students.
  • Proven school-based experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in inclusive classroom settings.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education requirements.
  • Ability to complete all work onsite as specified.
  • Successful completion of CORI background check and fingerprinting.

Additional Details:

  • Position type: Part-time, one-time evaluation and IEP meeting attendance.
  • Contract duration: Current school year.
  • Immediate availability preferred; start date ASAP.
  • Initial interview to be conducted via Zoom.
