Overview
Ranor, Inc is a large-scale fabrication and machining supplier. Our current focus is on defense related products in support of Navy submarine components.
At Ranor, Inc. our machining plant operates large horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers for large component machining. The machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and inspecting CNC machining equipment while maintaining strict adherence to quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
We are seeking experienced machinist only - this is not an entry level position.
Duties include:
- Set-up and operation of horizontal and vertical boring mill machines.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and NC programs.
- Must be able to use machine shop inspection equipment to verify in-process dimensions.
- Ability to follow Ranor’s written work instructions.
- Ability to follow directions from assigned mentor and supervisors.

Qualifications Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5+ years CNC machining experience (boring mill experience strongly preferred)
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T understanding.
- Proven ability to set up and run jobs independently.
- Experience with precision inspection tools (micrometers, bore gages, indicators, etc.)
- Ability to work to tight tolerances (.0005” range)
- Must be able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
