Position: Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric
Salary Range: $29-$34 per hour (based on experience)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with weekend rotation
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve their mobility, reduce pain, and regain independence. This position offers a competitive salary and a fulfilling work schedule with the opportunity for weekend rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations and assessments of patients' physical abilities and limitations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the patient's needs and goals
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other modalities to improve patients' strength, range of motion, balance, and coordination
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue at home
- Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and ethical standards in the provision of physical therapy services
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with geriatric patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Knowledge of Medicare and other insurance regulations related to physical therapy services
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records
