Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that all project costs are accurately assessed and managed. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in CAD and Revit, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the construction process and the ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates of labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Utilize CAD, Revit, and AutoCAD software to create detailed project plans and takeoffs.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids for commercial and retail construction projects.
- Manage change orders and ensure they are accurately reflected in the project budget.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings to discuss project scope and clarify any uncertainties with stakeholders.
- Maintain a master bid log and track all bids submitted and awarded.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Utilize CRM systems to manage client relationships and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, particularly in commercial and retail projects.
- Strong proficiency in CAD, Revit, and AutoCAD software.
- Experience with takeoffs, bidding processes, and preparing purchase orders.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
