Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher to support K-5 students during the extended school year in an elementary school setting in Chicopee, MA. This role focuses on providing tailored educational services to students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Massachusetts Special Educator
- Strong knowledge of learning disabilities and effective educational strategies
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Proven ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for varied student needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience working with K-5 students in special education
Location: Chicopee, MA
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each students needs
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusivity
- Maintain regular communication with students, families, and guardians regarding educational progress
- Modify instructional materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
- Support students social and emotional development alongside academic growth
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development
