Position Summary
Honey Bee Coffee & Tea is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and hospitality-focused team members to join our growing cafe. This role includes barista responsibilities, customer service, limited food preparation, cleaning and sanitation duties, opening and closing procedures, and general support of daily cafe operations.
Hospitality & Customer Service
- Welcome guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Answer menu questions and provide recommendations.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally.
Barista Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and specialty drinks.
- Maintain beverage quality and consistency.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Restock beverage supplies and ingredients.
Food Preparation
- Prepare limited menu items according to recipes and food safety standards.
- Assemble and serve food offerings.
- Maintain proper food handling and storage practices.
Opening Duties
- Prepare the cafe for daily operations.
- Brew coffee and tea products.
- Stock stations and displays.
- Complete opening safety and cleanliness checks.
Closing Duties
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
- Restock supplies for the next day.
- Complete closing checklists and secure the cafe.
Cleaning & Dishwashing
- Wash dishes, utensils, and food-preparation equipment.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
- Clean customer areas and restrooms as needed.
- Remove trash and recycling.
Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal communication, listening, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand continuously for periods.
- Ability to lift to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Experience operating a computer and point-of-sale system.
Preferred
- Previous barista, café, restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience.
- Knowledge of coffee and tea preparation.
- Experience with safe food handling procedures
