Oakley Country Club in Watertown, MA, is seeking a full-time/part-time Swim Teacher - Lifeguard to join our team for the summer season. This full-time-part-time position offers $18/hour plus commission for teaching swim lessons. Our club's pool is open seven days a week, and we are looking for a dedicated and responsible individual to ensure the safety of our members while providing high-quality swim instruction. YOUR ROLE AS A SWIM TEACHER - LIFEGUARD
As a Swim Teacher - Lifeguard, your day will be centered around both ensuring the safety of our pool area and providing excellent swim instruction. You will monitor pool activities, enforce safety regulations, and respond swiftly to emergencies. In addition to these lifeguard duties, you will teach swim lessons to members of varying skill levels, tailoring your approach to their individual needs. You will interact with members, making sure they feel comfortable and secure while enjoying their time in the pool. Your role will directly contribute to creating a positive and safe swimming environment for everyone at the club.
YOUR SCHEDULE AS A SWIM TEACHER - LIFEGUARD
This position offers flexible shifts, with hours falling between 8 AM and 10 PM within the business hours of our pool, which operates seven days a week. You will be expected to work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and there may be opportunities to transition into other roles within the Clubhouse after the pool season ends.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A SWIM TEACHER - LIFEGUARD
- Lifeguard certification
- Strong communication skills
A high school diploma or equivalent is ideal. At least one year of lifeguard experience is also preferred.
