Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at an elderly housing development. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for residents. The ideal candidate is hands-on, responsive, and respectful of working within a senior community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in apartments, common areas, and building systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and management
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Maintain grounds, including light landscaping and seasonal upkeep (snow removal, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
- Coordinate with outside contractors as needed
- Keep accurate records of work orders and completed tasks
Qualifications:
- 3 years maintenance experience (residential or property management preferred)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills and a respectful, patient demeanor with elderly residents
- Valid driver’s license
