An educational institution in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to provide one-on-one support for students. This contracted role focuses on assisting students with individualized needs, helping to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized assistance to students requiring individualized support during instructional activities
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement educational plans and strategies
- Assist with classroom management and promote positive student behavior
- Support students in developing academic, social, and communication skills
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations with the educational team
- Help prepare instructional materials and maintain a safe learning environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role, preferably with one-on-one student engagement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to student success
- Ability to follow instructions and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Relevant paraprofessional certification or educational training is preferred
- Familiarity with working in classroom settings and supporting diverse learners
