Job Description

The purpose of this role is to deepen LUK’s connection with individual and corporate donors and the broader community, translating that connection into sustained philanthropic investment. The role manages cultivation to stewardship and ensures LUK has the resources to respond to community and organizational needs that go beyond current funding.

Responsibilities Include

  • Acquiring a deep understanding and commitment to LUK’s Mission, Vision, Values, programming, and advocacy
  • Cultivating and stewarding individual and corporate donors, with a focus on mid-level and major gifts
  • Participating in key networking opportunities such as chamber, other business focused groups and community engagement tabling events.
  • Engaging in government relations in coordination with the President
  • Planning and executing annual giving campaigns and year-end appeals
  • Planning and managing fundraising and donor appreciation events
  • Maintaining donor records and gift entry in the CRM system
  • Producing donor communications, including newsletters and appeal materials
  • Supporting the board’s fundraising committee and donor cultivation efforts
  • Setting and tracking fundraising revenue goals
  • Cultivating planned giving opportunities, including bequests and legacy gifts

Knowledge and Experience Required

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or individual donor relations

Values: A demonstrated passion and commitment for philanthropy and community-based human services

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field required. Fundraising certificate preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • CRM proficiency: Experience working with donor management or CRM systems (e.g., Donor Perfect or similar)
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly comfort and expertise in networking in small and large groups and presenting to audiences
  • Relationship management: Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with donors, legislators, board members, and community stakeholders including willingness to use all communication strategies (e.g., phone, face to face, e-mail, mailings)
  • Event planning: Experience planning and executing fundraising and donor engagement events and skills in facilitating fundraising committees
  • Flexibility: Attend events and meetings that occasionally are outside traditional business hours flexing hours when needed.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet fundraising deadlines
  • Self-starter with great organizational skills and drive to succeed
  • Reliable and safe transportation
