OPERATOR 1, PACKAGING OPERATIONS

Location: Woburn, MA
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Training Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM for approximately 1 month

JOB SUMMARY

The Operator 1, Packaging Operations position is responsible for sealing, inspecting, labeling, and packaging clinical and commercial products according to established procedures and quality specifications. The role requires strong attention to detail, accurate documentation, basic math skills, and the ability to work effectively in a regulated manufacturing environment.

New hires will train on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM for approximately one month. Once three operators are established, the position will transition to the 2nd shift from 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seal and package pouches according to established procedures and quality requirements.
  • Perform manual inspection, labeling, and packaging of finished products.
  • Inspect in-process packaging and components to ensure consistent quality.
  • Identify and remove defective products and packaging materials.
  • Ensure finished products are packaged accurately and meet customer, internal, and clinical requirements.
  • Maintain timely and accurate manufacturing documentation, including batch records and inventory counts.
  • Complete basic mathematical calculations required for batch records and production activities.
  • Assist with inventory counting as needed.
  • Perform routine cleaning of packaging stations and processing equipment.
  • Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) and product contamination-control requirements, including gowning procedures.
  • Handle hazardous waste appropriately according to established procedures.
  • Participate in safety audits, daily safety discussions, and workplace safety observations.
  • Follow all manufacturing procedures, quality specifications, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production and quality goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of industry work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality.
  • Ability to read and understand documentation.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and quality specifications.
  • Good documentation practices.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills.
  • Familiarity with computers and general business software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed.
  • Must be flexible and open to static or rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Background check must be fully cleared before the start date.
  • No drug screening is required for this assignment.

WORK SCHEDULE

Training: 1st Shift — 6:00 AM–2:30 PM for approximately 1 month

Regular Schedule: 2nd Shift — 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Monday–Friday

Candidates must be flexible and available to work overtime when needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The production environment involves packaging plant-based hemostatic powder products. The primary chemical-related safety consideration is a 70/30 alcohol solution used for cleaning, which is flammable. Employees must follow all applicable PPE, contamination-control, cleaning, waste-handling, and workplace safety procedures.

Opportunity to go permanent after 90 days.
