Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school or educational setting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of special education needs and effective support strategies for students with behavioral and academic challenges
- Ability to build rapport with middle school-aged students and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Patience, compassion, and empathy in one-on-one and small group interactions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized academic and behavioral support to a middle school student
- Implement instructional strategies under teacher guidance to reinforce classroom learning
- Assist with social and emotional skill-building throughout the school day
- Monitor student progress, documenting observations and collaborating with the educational team
- Support the student in navigating transitions and managing daily routines
