Through hands-on experiences in coding, robotics, engineering, computational thinking, artificial intelligence, and digital literacy, we equip young people with the skills to thrive in the future workforce.As we enter our next chapter - launching a public-facing STEM Innovation Lab in Boston's Seaport, expanding across multiple communities, and implementing our SPARK AmeriCorps program - we're seeking an exceptional operational leader to build the systems, people, and infrastructure that will support our continued growth.About the RoleThis is not a traditional operations position.The Director of Strategy & Operations serves as a senior organizational leader and strategic partner to the Founder & CEO. You will own internal operations, organizational systems, AmeriCorps strategy and compliance, operational planning, and cross-functional execution - ensuring our programs, people, and processes are aligned to deliver exceptional results.This role is for someone who enjoys building organizations, creating scalable systems, leading through complexity, and translating ambitious vision into operational excellence.What You'll LeadOrganizational strategy execution and operational planningAmeriCorps implementation, compliance, and organizational oversightProgram quality and performance, delivered through the Program ManagerCross-functional operations, HR systems, and operational infrastructureOrganizational planning, dashboards, KPIs, and accountability systemsInternal communication, leadership alignment, and continuous improvementOperational readiness for the Innovation Lab launch and continued statewide growthWe're Looking for Someone WhoHas built or significantly improved organizational systems - not simply managed existing onesHas scaled organizations, programs, or complex operationsHas partnered closely with founders or executive leaders to drive growthExercises strong judgment and makes thoughtful decisions when information is incompleteLeads through accountability, collaboration, coaching, and continuous improvementThrives in entrepreneurial environments where building matters as much as managingThis Role Is Not for EveryoneThis is not a coordination or support role.You'll operate with a high degree of independence - owning operational outcomes, building systems that don't yet exist, making difficult decisions, and helping shape the future of a growing nonprofit.
