We are seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher to provide instruction for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday, and totals 25 hours per week.
This role involves delivering specialized instruction across multiple educational settings, including middle school, high school, charter school, and Montessori environments. A key responsibility will be providing five hours per week of Wilson Reading instruction to a middle school student, alongside 20 hours of additional special education support to students at the other designated sites. The focus is on instruction, allowing you to dedicate your expertise directly to student learning and growth.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or equivalent experience in special education instruction
- Experience providing specialized reading intervention, specifically with the Wilson Reading System or a similar structured literacy program
- Ability to instruct both in-person and virtually preferred (remote options considered if on-site placement cannot be filled)
- Proven success working with middle and high school students in various school settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 5 hours per week of Wilson Reading instruction to an assigned middle school student
- Provide 20 hours of instruction to students at a local high school, charter school, and Montessori
- Support students’ individualized education program (IEP) goals through targeted instruction
- Track progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders
