Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education professional supporting K-12 students for a summer assignment near Cambridge, MA. This position is designed for educators with a passion for helping learners reach their fullest potential in a positive and inclusive environment. Work closely with students requiring specialized instruction in math and reading, ensuring tailored support meets their individual educational needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Special Education teacher certification OR demonstrable experience as a trained math/reading tutor
  • Orton-Gillingham (OG) or Wilson training required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues
  • Background working with K-12 special education populations is preferred
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging classroom environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction in accordance with individual education plans (IEPs) and established program methods
  • Implement OG or Wilson interventions to support literacy and/or math development
  • Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records to document achievements and areas of need
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful learning environment during the summer session

Role Details:

  • Contract assignment running from July 12th to August 13th
  • 16 hours per week, spread across 4 days (Monday-Thursday)
  • Work with a diverse student group spanning grades K-12
  • Competitive pay between $45 and $50 per hour, with weekly payroll for added convenience
