Traffic Clerk / Warehouse Administrative Assistant

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish), preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in logistics preferred
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a transportation or logistics (supply chain) environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer, knowledge of Sage 100 ERP is a plus
  • Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Position Overview:

  • M-F 8:30am-5:00pm, 40 Hours
  • in-person at our Holyoke, MA location

Expressive Design Group is a privately owned company that manufactures and distributes all-occasion and seasonal gift-wrapping paper products to a wide variety of local, national, and international retailers.

We are looking for an outgoing and assertive self-starter to join our logistics team as a Traffic Clerk/Warehouse Administrator. The ideal candidate must have experience working in a similar environment with the ability to learn new processes quickly and oversee day-to-day shipping tasks at a highly detailed level while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

As a second traffic handler, in coordination with the Traffic and Warehouse Managers, the ideal candidate will serve in this overlapping dual role, focusing on key areas described which include a transition between peak-shipping and off-peak annual cycles. Key responsibilities include:

Peak (Approximately July through November)

  • Secondary handler for assigned outbound shipments such as FTLs, LTLs, Fedex Express etc.
  • Study and relay customer shipping requirements such as palletizing, labeling, routing guidelines etc. Print and distribute order pick tickets as per the priority set by the Operations Director
  • Print and distribute product, inner, and master carton labels as required for each individual order
  • Oversee picking priorities for warehouse workers, to be determined by Warehouse Manager
  • Maintain accurate records for all processed orders which include matching and filing BOLs, commercial invoices and shipping advice, pick tickets, pallet sheets, EDI related documentation etc.
  • Backup for Traffic Manager when absent (tasks to be determined when needed)
  • Backup for EDI Specialist when absent (tasks to be determined when needed)
  • Overtime may be required during peak season

Off-Peak (Approximately November through June)

  • Secondary order entry for customer purchase orders
  • Coordinate with Traffic Manager to prepare and stage customer shipments for upcoming season
  • Facilitate oversight of special projects groups with Traffic Manager
  • Backup for Traffic Manager when absent (tasks to be determined when needed)
  • Backup for EDI Specialist when absent (tasks to be determined when needed)
