Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel position in Massachusetts, requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ED nursing experience.

Details

  • 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and dedicated Acute Mental Health area
  • Sees all patient populations with an average census of approximately 230 visits per day
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
  • Skills utilized include assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Night shift: 19:00–07:30 (7p–7:30a)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Floating required
  • Day shift rotation (7a–7p, 11a–11p, 7p–7a) may occasionally be requested; frequency is low and the primary night position does not rotate
  • EMR: Epic (ASAP module) — Epic charting experience expected
  • Free on-site parking available

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) — no exceptions for this facility
  • Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
  • 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates who permanently reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and will receive a reduced pay rate
  • Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos
  • Any approved time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission
