An exciting contract opportunity awaits for educators passionate about supporting elementary-age students with learning differences. This Special Education teaching position focuses on students identified with learning disabilities in reading, writing, math, and some high-functioning Autism spectrum needs within a dedicated classroom, collaborating closely with a skilled team of four teachers. PT and OT professionals provide additional support, ensuring a comprehensive environment for each student’s growth and achievement.
The assignment runs from October 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027. This is a full-time role with 35 hours per week, welcoming both on-site and, beginning 10/23/26, qualified part-time virtual applicants.
Qualifications:
- Holds a valid Vermont Professional Educator License
- Possesses one or more of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Experience with elementary students preferred
- Comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary support staff (PT/OT)
- Demonstrated skills working with students with learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism
- Fingerprinting requirement is satisfied with recent clearance from another school setting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver IEP-driven instruction and interventions to elementary students in a learning disability support (LDS) setting
- Collaborate closely with teaching colleagues, specialists, and support personnel
- Maintain timely and accurate student records, including progress reports and IEP documentation
- Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs
- Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom climate
