Job Title: Cable Assembler II
Pay Rate: $21.00-$23.00/hr.
Location: Beverly MA 01915
Duration: Temp to Perm
Shift: M-F 7am-3:30pm OR 6am-2:30pm (6am is the earliest starting time)
ITAR Restricted:
Due to the nature of our business, we are unable to provide sponsorship. Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
Essential functions:
- Build cable assembly to print, draw, and manufacture work instructions and ECN’s.
- Measure and cut wire, cable, inner and outer jackets to required length.
- Perform wire termination and crimp terminals both manually and by machine.
- Solder terminals and plugs.
- Repair rejected product.
- Required skills (mandatory):
- Cable assembly experience.
- Soldering skills.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Ability to interpret detailed specifications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Basic math skills – Must be able to measure in inches and increments of inches.
Desired skills (not mandatory):
- IPC-610 and 620 certified through step 1
- Soldering wires and pins
- Cable build experience
Qualifications:
- Years experience 1+ years required.
- Education: HS diploma or equivalent
- Manufacturing & soldering experience required. Won't consider academic/ class experience.
- Candidates are required to take a soldering test & follow work instructions during the interview. Example: Says to cut 8’ wire and solder one side, candidates have cut anywhere from 2’ - 3ft and some are soldering both sides.
- Assembler 2: An assembler in this position should be able to build any standard cable from start to finish using an MWI with very minimal supervision.
- Can follow MWI’s.
- Can measure in fractions using a ruler
- Can Crimp
- Can strip wires to length
- Can cut cables to length
- Can use small hand tools
- Understand what tolerances are
- Can do G4 assembly
- E-Verify – Must be US Citizen and ITAR compliant
- Soldering test on site – soldering wires and pins to terminals
- Ideally candidates should have IPC certificates, however not required
Physical requirements:
- Repetitive use of small hand tools
- Lifting to 25 lbs.
- Cutting cable up to 2” in diameter
- Walking, standing, and sitting.
