A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide essential instruction and support to students in a dynamic school environment near Lowell, MA. This part-time position begins as soon as possible and extends through March 2026, with the potential for discussion around an extension through June. Candidates will have the advantage of flexible weekly hours, ideally 10-15, and the ability to express age group and school preferences directly to the district, ensuring a customized and supportive work experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) teaching certificate
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to partner with current TOD and adapt to evolving caseloads
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt lessons and materials to address individual learning needs
- Collaborate closely with the full-time district TOD and other team members
- Consult with the district to determine caseload, age groups, and school assignments to align with your background and preferences
- Attend relevant meetings and contribute to student education plans as needed
