Lead Roofing & Exterior Repair Technician (Crew Lead)

Red Dog Exteriors LLC | Fitchburg, MA | Full-Time

Red Dog Exteriors is looking for an experienced Lead Roofing & Exterior Repair Technician to join our growing production team.

This is a hands-on position for someone with roofing and exterior construction experience who can diagnose problems, complete repairs, assist with a variety of exterior trade work, and oversee crews and projects in the field when needed.

We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to work with their hands but also has the experience and leadership ability to make sure a job is being completed correctly.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose roof leaks and exterior problems.
• Perform roofing and exterior repairs.
• Complete service calls and punch-list work.
• Perform minor siding, window, trim, flashing, gutter, and waterproofing repairs.
• Assist with roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and other exterior projects as needed.
• Oversee roofing and exterior crews on assigned projects.
• Communicate project scopes and expectations to crews.
• Monitor workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and project progress.
• Make sure work is being completed according to the project scope and company standards.
• Identify problems or additional work discovered during construction.
• Coordinate with the Site Supervisor and production team when additional materials or labor are needed.
• Perform final inspections and help complete punch-list items.
• Take jobsite photos and document completed work.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and property owners.
• Help train and support less-experienced team members.

This is a working leadership position. You should be comfortable both overseeing a crew and picking up your tools to help get the job done.

Experience Required

Previous roofing, exterior remodeling, or construction experience is required.

We're especially interested in candidates with experience in several of the following:

• Asphalt shingle roofing
• EPDM/rubber roofing
• TPO/commercial roofing
• Roof repairs and leak diagnosis
• Flashing and waterproofing
• Siding
• Windows and doors
• Exterior trim
• Gutters
• Ventilation
• Carpentry and minor framing
• General exterior construction

Previous experience as a roofing foreman, crew leader, repair/service technician, experienced installer, or working supervisor is a plus.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Ability to safely climb and work from ladders.
• Ability to safely access residential and commercial roofs.
• Ability to lift and carry tools, ladders, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical construction and repair work.
• Ability to work outdoors in New England weather conditions.
• Ability to safely use common roofing, carpentry, and exterior construction tools.

Compensation

Full-Time | Competitive Pay Based on Experience
