Chemical Operations Supervisor (Chemical Process Engineer) in Quincy, MA
We are seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to lead shift operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will oversee daily production activities, drive operational excellence, support employee development, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise plant operations personnel to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
Ensure all employees and contractors adhere to established safety procedures and regulations.
Manage daily and weekly production planning, MRP activities, and SAP updates.
Coordinate maintenance activities, troubleshoot process issues, and follow up on work orders and documentation.
Monitor plant KPIs, including production costs, maintenance costs, chemical usage, yield, and throughput.
Develop and mentor team members through cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
Maintain plant cleanliness and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Support HACCP and SQF programs to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Prepare operational reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field; equivalent technical experience considered.
Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, refinery, or industrial environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with SAP preferred.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and schematics.
Eligible to obtain TWIC certification.
Refinery or manufacturing plant experience strongly preferred.
Occasional travel may be required for training or customer needs.
