Individual Life & Advanced Planning Administrator
Job Description
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, highly organized and detail-driven professional to play a key role on our Individual Life & Advanced Planning team. Working alongside our Senior Manager of Life Underwriting & Advanced Planning, you’ll help manage the day-to-day movement of sophisticated casework — keeping information accurate, requirements on track and the details handled from start to finish.
This is a great fit for an experienced administrator who genuinely enjoys being the person who keeps complex work organized and moving, takes pride in getting things right, and looks for smarter, more efficient ways to get the work done. This role also requires the judgment and discretion necessary when working with highly confidential personal, financial and medical information.
What You’ll Do
- Establish, organize and maintain individual life and advanced planning case files.
- Coordinate insurance exams and request, track and follow up on medical records and other underwriting requirements.
- Maintain case documentation and status information, proactively following up on outstanding items.
- Communicate with carriers, medical offices, exam vendors and internal team members to keep cases moving.
- Enter and maintain client data used in advanced planning analytics and reporting.
- Organize source information and maintain accurate files, supporting documentation and version control.
- Assist with report preparation, printing, assembly and production of client materials.
- Help manage workflow, priorities and deadlines across both functions, escalating issues when appropriate.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of administrative experience in a professional services environment, such as legal, accounting, consulting or financial services.
- Exceptional discretion and sound judgment when handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Accuracy and comfort working with detailed data and documentation.
- A process-improvement mindset and comfort using technology to streamline administrative work and improve efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative and a willingness to take ownership.
- The ability to learn new systems, processes and terminology quickly.
- Life insurance experience is helpful, but not required. We’re more interested in finding someone with strong administrative experience, the right mindset and the ability to learn our business.
