Job Description
SUMMARY
Join a fast-paced metal fabrication environment applying high-quality wet paint and powder coat finishes on precision parts. This role balances craftsmanship with speed and consistency—washing, prepping, masking, coating, baking, and inspecting components while keeping tools, booths, and ovens in top shape. Ideal for someone who takes pride in clean finishes, follows work instructions and prints, and contributes to an on-time, zero-defect workflow.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review prints and work instructions to confirm color, finish type, and masking details.
- Select and stage the correct coating materials; set up spray/powder equipment and PPE.
- Apply wet paint or powder coat using proper gun techniques to achieve uniform coverage and mil thickness.
- Operate curing ovens; verify time/temperature profiles and handle parts carefully to protect finishes.
- Inspect parts and equipment routinely; perform basic maintenance per schedule and escalate issues early.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe finishing area with proper hazardous waste handling and storage.
- Train others in fundamental wet paint/powder processes as needed and support additional shop duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on wet paint and/or powder coating experience.
- Comfort reading prints with a moderate level of blueprint interpretation.
- Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Consistent, reliable work habits with flexibility to shift tasks as priorities change.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to wear a respirator and required PPE for extended periods.
- Physically able to stand/walk for long periods; bend, kneel, and crouch as needed; and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for tools, equipment, and computer tasks; strong close/color/depth vision and focus adjustment.
- Comfort working around fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and varying noise levels.
- Operates safely to prevent personal injury and property damage; models good shop citizenship.
BENEFITS
- Career growth in a modern finishing department with opportunities to expand skills and train others.
- Competitive pay with first-shift hours (five 8-hour days) and overtime opportunities.
- Flexible scheduling by agreement with your supervisor to support work-life balance.
- PTO starting at 80 hours with annual increases, plus 9 paid holidays.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits; Employee Assistance Program.
- Company-paid life and long-term disability; short-term disability coverage.
- 401(k) with a strong match (100% of 3% and 50% for 4%–5%).
