At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the CNO is reporting to the president and CEO and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team, the CNO is responsible for the professional practice of nursing services in all departments of the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient. The CNO is responsible for the leadership, direction and supervision of their assigned departments in accordance with the mission, vision and strategies of Mt. Ascutney Hospital, the Dartmouth Health system where applicable, and within the scope of nursing practice as dictated by the Board of Nursing.
- Collaborates with clinical support staff, physicians and other healthcare professionals as part of a team-based, patient-centered care approach.
- Participates in quality improvement projects.
- Displays and encourages sensitivity to the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Treats others with consideration, courtesy, and respect.
- Performs duties willingly and with initiative; shares necessary information, so co-workers can do the same.
- Demonstrates judgment and tact when dealing with others.
An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree (MBA, MSN) required; master’s degree in nursing strongly preferred.
- Ten or more years of nursing experience, with a minimum of five years of progressive management experience.
- Current licensure by the NH State Board of Nursing is required.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to challenges, with the ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- History of demonstrated leadership and achievement in complex environments.
