Make an impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with a contract opportunity supporting students in the greater Boston area. This dynamic part-time role offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated district professional, ensuring students across all age groups receive exceptional instruction and support. The contract begins as soon as possible and will run through March 2026, with the potential to discuss an extension through June after that point.
Enjoy flexibility in your schedule, with an ideal commitment of 10-15 hours per week, tailored to suit both your preferences and the needs of the district. Work closely with school staff and families as you help students develop the skills they need to thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certificate for Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Capacity to tailor approaches for different age groups and student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, partnering with a full-time district Teacher of the Deaf
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive educational planning
- Advocate for students’ accessibility and communication needs across the district
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to monitor progress and address concerns
- Contribute creative ideas for individualized instruction
