Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Experience providing specialized instruction to students with hearing loss
  • Strong familiarity with IEP and 504 plan development and monitoring processes
  • Proficiency with NHSEIS or similar systems for creating education plans
  • Ability to interpret evaluation data and progress reports to inform instruction
  • Knowledge of current best practices for assistive listening technology and accommodations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for consulting with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills for maintaining documentation, records, and progress data
  • Readiness to offer training to educational staff on hearing loss and support technologies

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized instruction and interventions based on IEP/504 plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to optimize student outcomes
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Consult regularly with audiologists, SLPs, and service providers
  • Oversee and troubleshoot the use of student amplification devices and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Provide guidance to students in self-advocacy and device management
  • Support compliance with NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards and district policies
  • Participate in required building and district meetings, as well as professional development
