Job Description Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner for a contract-to-hire assignment supporting their New England office. This position requires a seasoned claims professional with extensive knowledge of Massachusetts workers’ compensation claims, along with strong experience handling any of the other New England states. The ideal candidate will be able to step into an active claims environment, work independently, and effectively manage complex workers’ compensation files with minimal training or oversight. Responsibilities
- Manage a pending of 90-100 workers’ compensation claims from initial assignment through resolution, including lost-time, indemnity, and litigated files.
- Handle claims associated with a large national account while maintaining accurate reserves, action plans, and file documentation.
- Investigate compensability, causation, medical treatment, disability, and return-to-work considerations.
- Evaluate claim exposure and establish and adjust reserves as necessary.
- Apply strong knowledge of Massachusetts and Connecticut workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate with employers, injured employees, medical providers, attorneys, nurse case managers, and other involved parties.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience within an insurance carrier or TPA environment.
- Must be a seasoned examiner with experience independently managing complex lost-time, indemnity, and litigated claims.
- Strong Massachusetts workers’ compensation jurisdictional experience is required.
- Connecticut workers’ compensation claims experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling claims in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and/or Rhode Island is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of compensability, reserving, medical management, litigation, settlements, and return-to-work strategies.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $40.00/hr. - $50.00/hr
