The Production Planner is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and staging production jobs while ensuring accurate inventory control and documentation throughout the manufacturing process. This role supports production efficiency, quality standards, and cross‑functional collaboration in a highly manual manufacturing environment. Experience handling and packaging small, sensitive parts is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare (kit) and stage production jobs across all manufacturing process areas
Track materials and products through all stages of production
Maintain accurate lot traceability and perform inventory transactions in the ERP system
Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with quality requirements
Review and verify dimensional, cosmetic, spectral, and metrological specifications
Read, interpret, and execute work orders and lot travelers
Support engineering by integrating non‑manufacturing jobs into the production workflow
Safely handle, move, and transport materials
Prioritize and schedule work to meet production deadlines
Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all production materials
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Inventory Management
- ERP system experience (INFOR Visual strongly preferred)
- Comfort working in a manual, hands-on manufacturing environment
- Logistics or supply chain coordination experience
- High school diploma required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in production planning or production control
- Ability to perform basic math (whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Work Environment
- On-site, 5 days per week
- Manufacturing/office environment with moderate noise levels
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyngsborough, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
