Position Title: Facilities & Building Lead

FLSA Designation: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Supervises: Oversees vendors and contractors as needed
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Facilities & Building Lead supports the daily operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the theatre, conservatory, JMAC, and related spaces. This role serves as a hands-on lead responsible for building upkeep, minor repairs, vendor coordination, and event support while ensuring spaces are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard. The position provides experienced, on-site facilities leadership and supports continuity of operations across multiple buildings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
- Perform and coordinate daily building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance across all facilities, including theatre, conservatory, event spaces, and administrative areas.
- Serve as a point of contact for cleaning vendors and service providers, including monitoring quality, addressing issues in real time, and escalating concerns as needed.
- Support oversight of cleaning schedules, supplies, and equipment to ensure consistent cleanliness and safety standards.
- Complete hands-on repairs, troubleshooting, furniture assembly, and minor construction or patch work as needed.
- Coordinate and support setup and breakdown for performances, rehearsals, classes, rentals, and special events, including tables, chairs, portable bars, and equipment.
- Assist with vendor coordination, contract support, purchasing, and inventory tracking related to facilities and building operations.
- Respond to building issues, emergencies, and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain organization of facilities workspaces, storage areas, tools, and supplies.
- Support snow removal, flooding response, and seasonal building needs as required.
- Collaborate with the Facilities & Building Supervisor and internal departments to ensure facilities needs align with operational priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
The employee must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate that they can perform the above responsibilities and essential functions to a high level of competency, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on performance schedules, conservatory, and event schedules.
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English proficiently, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and use of the internet.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with supervisors, peers, and vendors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when responding to building issues.
- Ability to effectively work with internal and external customers with professionalism, patience, and tact.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs repeatedly.
- Ability to move throughout theatre environment and building, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull, and twist in some instances.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs continuously.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous facilities experience required
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable
