Registered Nurse - Unit Manager
Job Summary
Manages the clinical and operational functions of an assigned nursing unit, overseeing the delivery of resident care and the performance of unit staff. Ensures care is provided in accordance with physician orders, facility policy and regulatory requirements. Supports staffing, scheduling, orientation and performance management, and serves as a clinical resource to the nursing team.
Education & Experience
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
• Previous Unit Manager, ADON or DON experience in a long-term care setting: Required
Licenses & Certifications
• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily clinical operations and the delivery of resident care on the assigned unit.
• Supervise, orient, schedule and evaluate the performance of unit nursing staff.
• Review care plans, assessments and documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for nursing staff, residents and families.
• Ensure the unit remains appropriately staffed, including covering shifts and on-call periods as needed.
• Support survey readiness, quality improvement initiatives and facility policy implementation.
