Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A position is available for an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide specialized support in an elementary school setting. This is a maternity leave contract opportunity based in Lowell, MA, running from mid to late January through April. The role requires a commitment of 3 days per week, with 7-hour workdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to Pre-K through 5th-grade students.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 17 students, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance student participation and success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with guidelines.
- Support the transition and development of children within the elementary school environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy services.
- Background in healthcare settings, including home health, is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with educators and families.
- Familiarity with assessment and intervention techniques for pediatric populations.
