Job Title: Plant Engineer - Open
Scope: Reports to Plant Manager
Plant Engineer
Nyacol® Nano Technologies, Inc., a leader in the development and manufacture of inorganic colloids and nanoparticle technology is seeking a Plant Engineer to join their team. This is a full-time position and reports to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties include the following:
· Responsible for the safety & well being of the Maintenance Department’s employees. This includes an organized & safe operating environment at all times.
· Hiring all maintenance department employees in conjunction with the Plant Manager & Human Resource Manager.
· Responsible for abiding by & enforcing the safety programs for the company.
· Leads the Maintenance Team to preserve the facility and its’ equipment, improve uptime along with controlling & monitoring costs.
· Coordinate training for maintenance and production department employees as needed.
· Assist with the development/enhancement of a preventative maintenance program.
· Create and maintain a master equipment list.
· Responsible for maintaining all equipment files – update and make complete.
· Responsible for keeping accurate equipment records.
· Responsible for purchasing all parts and materials necessary to keep the facility operating.
· Responsible for the maintenance and operation of two (2) boilers.
· Responsible for coordinating outside contractors and vendors when they are brought in to provide additional personnel and services to support the Maintenance Department.
· Project installations - provide expertise to new equipment design, installation and start-up.
o Assist with the design construction and start-up of new equipment.
o Assist in the implementation of capital projects which includes developing process designs, preparing budgets, obtaining cost estimates, overseeing installation and in some cases designing modifications to existing processes.
· Oversee maintenance schedule, perform internal audits and instrument calibration.
· Discipline of maintenance department employees as needed.
· Provide support to the Plant Manager in preparation of the plant budget.
· Maintain software and design-basis documentation for E&I systems (drawings, circuit breaker coordination, arc-flash calculations, etc.)
· Communicate and facilitate an understanding of the NNT Quality System and Quality Policy.
· Other tasks as directed by the Plant Manager or President.
Required Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience (minimum 7 years) in both maintenance shop and manufacturing environments.
· Prior experience (minimum 5 years) in maintenance management and process trouble shooting.
· Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
· Basic PLC skills & experience.
· Good supervisory, communication and documentation skills.
· Knowledge of pumps, controls (level, pressure, temperature, etc.), motors, valves, electrical systems, etc.
Preferred Requirements:
· Prior work experience in chemical manufacturing environment.
· Massachusetts State licenses -
o Boilers, plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, hoisting, wastewater, etc.
· BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical).
· Process control background (DCS, PLC).
· Safety Management involvement (OSHA, PHA, MOC, SOP, etc.).
Related Information:
· Works in both manufacturing and maintenance shop environments.
· Work week is from Monday through Friday.
· Works as part of a maintenance on-call rotation which includes week nights and occasional weekends.
· Occasionally fills in for the Plant Manager during their absence.
