Start your day at Plansee’s Franklin, USA facility, where precision is the standard and tungsten and molybdenum become the backbone of advanced applications. You’ll walk up to a wire EDM, load the job, dial in offsets, and refine the program at the machine to turn semi-finished stock into intricate, production-ready parts.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end EDM work: set up, operate, and edit CNC programs to deliver both routine and highly complex components.
- Perform shop-floor programming on a range of EDM equipment, managing multiple set-ups and in-place machining on fixtures as needed.
- Review work orders, prints, and engineering plans; define materials, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters while accurately interpreting GD&T.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tooling with hand tools and tool-length offset equipment to achieve tight tolerances.
What you bring
- Seasoned machinist experience.
- Blueprint literacy and strong command of GD&T.
- Fluency with measurement tools from hand gauges to CMMs and optical comparators.
- Ability to read and apply G- and M-code.
- Detail orientation, clear communication, and collaborative teamwork.
