Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support K-12 students within a dynamic school environment in Lowell, MA. The role focuses on facilitating students development and enhancing their ability to participate fully in school activities through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans addressing students occupational therapy needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students academic and functional goals
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across various grade levels, ensuring interventions are age-appropriate
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of inclusive educational strategies
- Utilize evidence-based practices to promote students independence and participation in school activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school settings, preferably K-12
- Knowledge of current occupational therapy practices and regulations within the educational system
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs and educational goals
- Familiarity with developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is a plus
