We have an immediate opportunity for a Floral Sales & Floral Prep Associate. This position reports to the Store Manager. Studley's is Rochester's oldest flower shop. And there is a reason for that! We have an immediate opening in retail sales and floral prep. The person hired will work in the florist store and will pro-actively engage and assist customers with floral purchases. The person hired will also support the floral department by processing fresh floral products.This job requires a high level of enthusiasm and empathy!
The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:
Job Responsibilities:
You will sell flowers and plants in person and on the phone using our sales techniques and technology. You will provide outstanding customer service and contribute to sales growth. You will resolve customer questions and concerns. You will also contribute to maintaining the consistent high quality of our merchandise. Additionaly, you will process website orders in a timely and accurate manner.
This position supports the floral department by maintaining a clean working area in the retail store, cooler, and production areas. You will unpack shipments, wash buckets and process fresh flowers according to company standards. You understand proper flower fundamental handling techniques as well as basic plant care knowledge.

You have strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and empathy. You are creative. You can work effectively as a member of a team-oriented environment. You can engage with customers in person and on the phone. You have strong problem-solving skills. You have the capacity for independent learning and to quickly adapt to new skills. You have experience using a variety of computer and technological devices such as tablets, smart phones, web-based POS system, electronic file sharing. You can regularly prioritize and manage time effectively.
Other:
- Part-time or full-time position: Weekends and floral holidays required. Primary schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
- Peak business periods will require extended workdays and work weeks
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- This position requires working on your feet
