Role:
To assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs directly and through other representatives; provides expertise with respect to more complex Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, home banking, and lending etc.; explains services, sets up new accounts, responds to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people with their consumer lending needs; analyze loan requests and make credit decisions based on lending policy. Assist members with their financial transactions and utilizing our technological services for their needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Welcomes Members and completes transactions within a reasonable period of time, with accuracy and while equally sharing workload with other staff; while embracing and using the "Service Strategies" concepts. Accurately opening accounts for new members and working to identify their perceived and unperceived needs, while maintaining absolute confidentiality in regard to internal and/or external member information.- Remain current in regard to Products and Services by reviewing information provided. Seeking answers about such Products and Services by participating in on-going training. Using the knowledge of Triangle's products, services, and knowledge of operations, to maintain and grow the membership by applying sales strategies and lead to increased member loyalty through the use of both Service and Sales Strategies. Meet annual sales goals and maintain absolute confidentiality regarding member information. Be proficient in all the duties of a BS1. Equally share the workload with your peers and limit posting errors that result in reversal of fees. Respond to members’ requests in a timely manner. Be well versed and adhere to TCUs policies and procedures. Complete and submit required reports in an efficient and timely manner. For locations that do not have an ABM or HT: Keep the Branch Specialist 3 and/or Branch Manager informed of any issues affecting the branch. Assist in running the branch operationally in the absence of the Branch Specialist 3 or the Branch Manager.- Respond to all telephone and/or e-mail correspondences on the same day as they are received. Balance drawer(s) daily, maintain a good record regarding overages/shortages, limit posting errors. Balances ATM (Automatic Teller Machine). Has check signing authority and override capability as defined.- Interviewing applicants to secure data for completing a loan application closing loans. Input a consumer loan application, on your own, and close on a loan without supervision. Answer basic and complex questions.- Accurately complete IRA and CD transactions; handling financial/"teller transactions", as part of working with the members to satisfy their needs. Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three to Five years of similar or related experience.
Education
* A high school education or GED
* Post secondary education, desired
Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
