Role Description The OD Tech supports optometrists and other eye care professionals by preparing patients for exams, taking medical and ocular histories, and performing preliminary testing such as visual acuity, refractions, and diagnostic imaging as directed. Daily responsibilities include setting up exam rooms, maintaining equipment and supplies, and entering accurate data into electronic records systems. The OD Tech assists with patient flow, provides clear instructions for tests and procedures, and helps ensure a smooth and positive visit experience. This is a part-time, on-site role located in Hopkinton, MA, requiring regular in-person interaction with patients and staff.

- Experience in an eye care, medical, or clinical setting, with familiarity in basic optometric or ophthalmic testing.
- Ability to work directly with patients in a calm, professional, and respectful manner, including clear communication and active listening.
- Comfort using computers and electronic health record (EHR) systems, with attention to accurate data entry and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to follow clinical protocols and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification as an ophthalmic or optometric technician is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and techniques, and to support a team-oriented, patient-centered practice environment.
