A caring and dedicated paraprofessional is needed to work one-on-one with a student in the life skills program, providing both educational assistance and hands-on care. This role offers meaningful daily interactions and the chance to positively impact a child’s educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, PCA, LNA, or CNA highly valued
- Ability to provide individualized academic support in a classroom setting
- Comfort with assisting students with personal care, including toileting and positioning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators and students
- Compassion and patience when supporting children with varying abilities
- Must be reliable and able to commit weekdays through June 2026
Role Responsibilities:
- Work on a one-to-one basis with a student in the life skills program
- Assist with academic tasks as directed by instructional staff and IEP guidelines
- Support the student’s toileting needs according to established plans
- Ensure proper student positioning for comfort and safety throughout the school day
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff for cohesive student support
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the student’s dignity at all times
