ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Must be able to operate and have a desire to learn to program 2 axis lathes.
- Set up and operate machines, monitoring and adjusting settings to reach desired tolerances for products.
- Set up and prove programs complete for first piece inspection.
- Experience working with all types of materials including Aluminum, Stainless Steels, Common Steels, as well as different plastics.
- Observe and maneuver equipment to produce desired products and ensure safety.
- Read and interpret engineered prints to determine necessary work steps and operational sequences.
- Responsible for production output while running the machine(s) and monitoring.
- Download programs into individual machines and perform test operations to guarantee the machine program creates the required precise part.
- Inspect the fabricated part to make sure that it matches specifications.
- Willing to work to close tolerances. Ex. +/- .001
- Must be able to work independently.
- Maintain safe and clean, efficient working environment, complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Other duties as required may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Lathe/turning machine tool-setters and operators should have experience in using these tools and knowledge of the production processes which utilize them.
- Ability to train and teach proper operating procedures and practices to others.
- Good judgment working with documented limits.
- Well organized.
- Minor decision making skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1-5 years of Lathe experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiar with Fanuc and Haas Controls.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Lean Manufacturing Training with single part flow comprehension.
- NICE TO HAVE: Fanuc / Haas Programming Experience.
- Mastercam experience helpful
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
