Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday 1st shift – Saturdays as needed
United Construction & Forestry is looking for a General Manager who will be responsible for the achievement of the business location plan objectives and fulfilling the expectations of all stakeholders (owners, customers, and employees). Provides leadership in evaluating, allocating, and managing human, physical and financial resources for the location. Optimizes the profitable growth of the business, the personal growth of employees, and the satisfaction of customers.
What You’ll Do
- Review and analyze P&L statements monthly.
- Sustain and grow market share on all products.
- Attend Regional Managers’ meetings monthly and quarterly.
- Works with Branch Administrator on month end close outs, lease documents and rentals.
- Compose and submit weekly closeout report to the corporate office.
- Submits Estimate to Cash (ETC) report by month end to Regional Office for machine forward ordering.
- Reviews weekly RPO equipment and set strategies to close.
- Orders all machine attachments.
- Works with Regional office on District Branch inventories.
- Chairs Monday staff meetings, discussing accounts receivable, demos and rentals. Go over any new United or Deere issues. Hold mini-sales motivational sessions each week.
- Works with sales personnel to develop their territories, goals, and objectives for that territory.
- Works with all Branch Sales Reps on outside sales and rentals, prospecting, cold-calling and overall motivation of the Branch Sales force.
- Assists Sales Reps in machine pricing, formal quotations, trade-in values and governmental bids.
- Rides with territory Sales Reps as often as possible.
- Approves all Branch purchases, obtaining necessary approvals from the corporate office when needed.
- Approves all Branch payables.
- Approves all Branch monthly sales commissions.
- Oversee, in conjunction with the Branch Administrator, the facility condition pertaining to maintenance and property enhancements.
- Holds meetings with sales and service personnel on a regular basis.
- Assists Department heads in any disciplinary action with employees.
- Works with all Sales Reps and Departments on any customer disputes, working to resolve them in a win-win manner for both United and the customer.
- Greet customers and guests to the Branch.
- Ensures Branch harmony and continuity among Branch Departments and employees by setting the standard, elevating and supporting each employee as a unique individual.
- Oversee new employee hires by department, counselling Department heads on resumes and adding input on the opinion of the candidate.
Requirements:
What it Takes
- Solid analytical, business planning, problem solving, and communication skills
- 5+ years’ experience in a retail environment.
- 1+ additional years’ experience as a parts or service manager or in a sales role preferred.
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
- Experience dealing with elevated customer issues.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
