Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for experienced paraprofessionals to support special education students from kindergarten through 5th grade in two schools located in Bennington, VT. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload ranging from one to four students throughout the school day, providing tailored support based on individual IEPs.
Key Details:
- Immediate start through the end of the school year
- Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day
- Caseload varies: one-to-one, two students per adult, or up to four students per adult depending on needs
- Support special education students in K-5 grade levels
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years paraprofessional experience, preferably in special education
- Associate’s degree or completion of the ParaPro assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse student needs
- Flexibility with interview scheduling
Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive, individualized support to students with special education needs
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Assist with classroom management and student engagement for assigned caseload
- Monitor student progress and contribute to documentation for educational plans
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
