Job Title: Diagnostic Technician (Phlebotomy / EKG)
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (5x8 Hours)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician with experience in phlebotomy and EKG procedures for a 13-week assignment in an acute care setting. This role involves performing blood specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
  • Accurately label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory
  • Verify patient identity and ensure correct test orders
  • Conduct non-invasive cardiac testing, including EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing
  • Provide patient instructions for specimen collection procedures
  • Complete documentation accurately within hospital systems
  • Ensure proper completion of lab requisitions and billing information
  • Collaborate with clinical staff regarding test orders and workflow updates
  • Maintain compliance with PPE and infection control standards
  • Support nursing units with specimen collection and diagnostic needs
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed
  • Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and remove expired items
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
  • Deliver excellent patient care and customer service

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Phlebotomy Certification (PBT)
  • EKG Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and attention to documentation accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of phlebotomy and EKG experience
  • Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Experience with stress testing and Holter monitoring
