Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract position for the 2026/2027 school year supporting high school students with moderate behavioral needs in an alternative education setting near Quincy, MA. This unique opportunity focuses on high school English Language Arts (ELA) instruction within a dedicated classroom where two teachers collaborate at all times. Students are referred from surrounding districts, creating a dynamic and supportive environment.
Candidates interested in Extended School Year (ESY) programming can begin as early as July 6th, offering the chance to build early rapport with students before the regular academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in General Education or Special Education (both are welcomed)
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or within Special Education settings highly preferred
- Comfort and adaptability working with students exhibiting moderate behavioral challenges
- Strong instructional skills in ELA for high school-aged learners
- Commitment to collaborative teaching—co-teacher model is central to this classroom
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated ELA lessons for a high school caseload
- Utilize behavior intervention strategies to cultivate a safe, positive classroom climate
- Collaborate closely with a fellow teacher at all times
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families to maximize educational outcomes
