A school district in Kingston, NH is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in Life Skills classrooms. This full-time, contract position offers an opportunity to work with middle and high school students who require specialized educational support.
Location: Kingston, NH
Position Type: Full-time, Contract
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Caseload:
- Middle School (6th-8th grades), Life Skills Classroom
- High School (9th-12th grades), Life Skills Classroom
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support in Life Skills curriculum for assigned grade levels.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with compliance to state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students in Life Skills or similar settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
