Title: Maintenance Technician III - 1st Shift
- 1st Shift - 6am to 2:30pm. Monday through Friday. Up to 10 hours of OT.
Location: Brockton, MA Pay Rate: $32/hr-$36/hr DOEBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role supports safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to maximize equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all products meet company standards and specifications.
- Complete clear, legible, and accurate documentation.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain Food Safety and Quality Standards daily.
- Comply with Allergen, Food Defense, and HACCP policies.
- Communicate any food safety or equipment concerns to supervision.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Work with supervision and maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Accurately weigh and record waste for disposal.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Comply with all safety policies and utilize all safety devices.
- Immediately report unsafe work practices or injuries.
- Respond promptly to radio calls and prioritize tasks with supervisor/manager guidance.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, building, offices, and grounds.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely with proper guarding in place.
- Keep work areas and machinery clean and safe.
- Assist with equipment set-up, start-up, operation, shut down, and disassembly.
- Collaborate with team members to develop operating parameters and procedures.
- Participate in shift handoff discussions at the start and end of each shift.
- Spend majority of shift on the production floor performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Support a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Ability to follow both written and verbal work instructions.
- Ability to create notifications and input time on work orders.
- Entry-level skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for processing and packaging equipment.
- Familiarity with PLC, VFD, and HMI operations.
- Basic ability to operate shop equipment (mill, brake, press).
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and structured problem solving preferred.
Education & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous general maintenance experience with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting.
