The CFSS Family Center Support Specialist, under the direction of the Family Center Coordinator, is responsible for providing Family Navigation Services for families looking for support at the Center. This is a service that involves a structured, strength-based relationship between the FSS and a parent/caregiver. This position works with the family and treatment team (as indicated) to identify their needs and connect them to community resources to address those needs. The FSS meets regularly with each individual and family (as indicated) to ensure progress toward goals on the treatment/action plan, to reduce barriers to success, and to evaluate progress toward goals weekly. The Case Manager works with State Agency Service Coordinators throughout the three domains of home, school/work (as indicated) and community to help develop and maintain a supportive web of care. The Families Connected Center provides services to families that also include workshops, trainings, events and other activities as identified by the members.

Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field preferred, or a minimum of five years experience working in the Human Service Field may be substituted. Minimum of two years experience working with an individual(s) to navigate the education or social service system for special needs/disabilities. Bilingual, Bicultural preferred. Spanish preferred or other non-English language capability considered.
