Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Perform specialized nursing duties in the operating room focused on Cesarean-Section procedures, playing a vital role in supporting surgical teams and ensuring optimal patient care within the Childbirth Center. This contract position requires commitment to two 12-hour day shifts with availability for on-call duties as needed.
Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and the operative field during peri-operative and intra-operative phases. Post-operative tasks involve room and instrument decontamination, stocking the operating room and adjacent units such as LDRs, Nursery, and Postpartum Rooms, and managing the removal of expired supplies and forms. The role also encompasses various clerical, supply, and messenger tasks, as well as stepping in as unit secretary when required to support department operations. Collaborative teamwork with multidisciplinary professionals aims to deliver efficient, safe, and patient-centered care that supports positive outcomes and family satisfaction.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proven experience in perioperative nursing, ideally with a focus on obstetric surgical procedures (Cesarean-Sections)
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities including clinical, clerical, and supply duties
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with a diverse clinical team
- Flexibility to work designated shifts and respond to on-call requirements
