A clinical opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in wound care to support inpatient services. This role focuses on managing and responding to wound consults within a busy hospital setting. The position offers a structured Monday through Friday day shift schedule, providing consistency and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough wound assessments and staging
  • Perform vacuum-assisted closure (vac) dressing changes
  • Complete wound consults promptly and efficiently
  • Manage care for patients with new ostomies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical record system

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct wound care experience
  • Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) or equivalent is preferred
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in wound staging and advanced wound care interventions
  • Ability to manage patient census effectively within a community hospital environment

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

This contract nursing opportunity supports a 400-bed community hospital with a focused patient population managing significant wounds. The unit typically staffs two to three wound care nurses per shift, enabling collaborative care delivery without rotating shifts or floating requirements.
