? Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Nurse to join our summer program team in Bedford, New Hampshire. This role spans July 7 to August 1 and requires coverage across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Youll provide comprehensive care during summer school hours and deliver focused 1:1 nursing services as needed.

Elementary School (Grades K5): MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 11:30 AM

Middle & High School (Grades 612): MondayFriday, 7:45 AM 11:15 AM

1:1 Nursing Support: Hours may overlap with group coverage or require brief adjustments; exact times will depend on student needs but will align within the overall schedule.
? Responsibilities1. Health Services & First Aid
-
Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses encountered during summer school.
-
Administer medications (prescription and OTC) in accordance with physician orders and NH school policy.

Perform routine health screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing) as required.
2. 1:1 Nursing Care
-
Deliver personalized care plans for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, severe allergies).

Assist with medical procedures as outlined in individualized health plans (e.g., catheterizations, insulin pumps).

Coordinate with parents/guardians, school staff, and external providers to maintain safe and effective care.
3. Documentation & Compliance
-
Maintain accurate electronic and paper health records for every student seen.

Track medication administration logs, incident reports, and follow-up documentation in compliance with NH state regulations.

Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA/FERPA compliance.
4. Collaboration & Communication
-
Communicate daily with summer school administrators, teachers, and support staff regarding student health issues or classroom accommodations.

Provide health-related guidance and training to summer school staff (e.g., emergency medication administration, basic injury care).
-
Notify parents/guardians promptly regarding significant health events, plan updates, or concerns.
5. Health Promotion & Prevention
-
Monitor and manage infectious disease protocols, including hand hygiene and symptom screening.
-
Educate students and staff about healthy habits (e.g., sun safety, hydration, nutrition).

Support school-wide wellness initiatives applicable during summer programming.
? Required Qualifications
-
Valid Nursing License (RN or LPN) in good standing in the State of New Hampshire.

Certification in CPR and First Aid (including pediatric/adolescent).

Minimum of 1 year of prior school nursing or pediatric nursing experience, preferably in a school or outpatient setting.

Strong knowledge of childhood chronic conditions and medication administration.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
? Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing 1:1 nursing care in school or community settings.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Training in Allergen & Anaphylaxis response (e.g., EpiPen certified).

Bilingual abilities (especially English/Spanish) beneficial.
